We had a great Easter weekend remembering Christ's death and resurrection with friends and family. On Friday, we had some of Abigail's buddies over for decorating Easter eggs, Aunt Gail and a crew of Davis friends came for breakfast on Saturday (the photo below is one of her friends, Kiki, who Abigail had a blast playing with), Gail and her friend Sarah stayed through Sunday, and we had a lovely Easter service and then two couples over for Easter lunch. I attempted my second ham and we had a great time of fellowship together.
We took Abigail to the Good Friday service and she was quiet through most of it and was only a little frustrated that she couldn't have the snack too (communion). We had a little chat about that but I am not sure how much of it she really understood. Gail and Sarah watched Abigail on Saturday night so that Jeremy and I could go to the Olive Garden and then Lowe's (this is what old, married couples do!). It was really nice to get away for a quiet dinner where we could actually talk! Gail and Sarah did a great job of playing with Abigail all weekend and spoiling her with all sorts of attention. Gail even gave her and Bobby rides around the yard (see below) on Sunday. What a blessing to have energetic college kids around! I was telling Abigail that mommy wasn't up to running all around the yard with her because baby makes me tired and she promptly responded with the observation that Gail didn't have a baby in her tummy so she could do it. So true!
